HOUSTON—The Alvin Police Department has cancelled the Amber Alert issued for Manuel Recendez.
The child was reported abducted at about 5:20 p.m. Tuesday as his mother was on a walk near his family’s home in Alvin, police said.
Police said three men and two women reportedly grabbed the toddler from his stroller.
Police originally said they left with the child in a white Nissan passenger car.
A person of interest called mother of the child and that’s when negotiators got on the phone and convinced someone to turn the toddler in at Southeast Memorial Hospital.
Four women were being questioned in connection with the case.
Police did not speculate on why the child was targeted.
Anyone with information regarding Manuel, vehicle or suspects is requested to call the Alvin Police immediately at 281-388-4370.
