TYLER, Texas (AP) - East Texas authorities say they've arrested the man responsible for fatally shooting a mother who was caught in a gang crossfire while at a park with her 3-year-old son.
Twenty-year-old Rakheem Goldstein turned himself in Monday to the Smith County Sheriff's Department. The Tyler resident is being held on a murder charge with bond set at $1 million.
An arrest warrant had been issued for Goldstein on Friday.
Twenty-year-old Briana Raquel Young of Tyler was pronounced dead after being shot July 30 at P.T. Cole Park. Her son was not hurt in the gunfire.
Police have said about 30 people were in the park when the shooting started. Police, who were told that gunfire erupted from within the park and from a nearby vehicle, are searching for additional suspects.
