The Texas Department of Public Safety regional director for the Austin-area was arrested for driving while intoxicated early Thursday morning.
Austin police say Richard Lee Hooks, 57, was arrested at around 4:24 a.m. in the 1000 block of Hwy 183, close to the Hwy 71 intersection right next to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Hooks is the Region 7 (Capital Area) coordinator for DPS, according to their website. Before that he was the Chief and Emergency Management Coordinator with the Corpus Christi Fire Department.
This arrest comes a month after Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg's DWI arrest last month.
