Police in the Houston suburb of Sugar Land are investigating the death of a 7-month-old baby left inside a pickup truck all day as temperatures reached near 90 degrees.

No charges have been filed immediately.

Sugar Land police told the Houston Chronicle the child's father dropped off older children at school Thursday morning, then went to a business conference. When he returned home late in the afternoon, his wife called to check on the children.

The man ran outside and found the baby still in the truck.
