Robert Johnson has owned his deli on Texas Avenue for a few months now.

"We actually make it however they want it," said the sub shop owner.

The former Quizno's location was handed down to him by the former owner, and Robert is trying to make the location a little more unique with a very interesting name.

"I like it. I don't see anything wrong with it. There are worse things out there that people see and do," said Johnson.

You see Robert is the biggest guy in his family and with a last name like Johnson, well you can see where this one is going. He named his sub shop, The Big Johnson Deli.

"Majority of the customers that do come in are younger, college kids so they look at it as funny. They don't care," said Johnson.

The funny part about Mr. Johnson's business is he didn't name the business himself.

"What I did is come out with a voting slip and the customers voted for Big Johnson Deli," said Johnson with a smile.

So what kind of sandwich can you get a Robert's deli? All sorts.

"The normal size, the average size, and the Big Johnson size," joked Johnson.

"I'm all for supporting local businesses, I usually try to go to local shops instead of out of town stuff," said Aggie Colton Carney.

Carney noticed the name but that didn't stop him from ordering a sandwich.

"I thought it was pretty interesting so I thought I'd stick around and try a sandwich," said Carney.

We'll have to see if the shtick sticks but for now it's....

"Go big or go home," said Johnson.

Because at the Big Johnson Deli.....

"Size does matter," joked Johnson.

If you'd like to try the Big Johnson Deli, it is located at the old Quinzo's sub location on Texas Avenue in College Station next to the old Lack's Furniture location.

The shop is open six days a week, but Robert does take Sunday off to spend with his family.
