McALLEN, Texas (AP) Border Patrol agents in South Texas have found the bodies of two suspected immigrants in recent days.
The agency's Rio Grande Valley sector said Wednesday that agents had also rescued 15 people, including 13 found locked inside a trailer at the highway checkpoint near Falfurrias (fal-FYOO'-ree-uhs).
On June 21, a man flagged down agents near Sarita to say his daughter had died in the brush while hiking around the highway checkpoint near that town in searing heat.
The next day, agents responded after a man called to say his brother was lost near the Sarita checkpoint. Agents responded using the number on a wind turbine the brother had relayed, but the immigrant from Honduras had already died.
Agents have found the remains of more than 90 people since Oct. 1.
