HOUSTON (AP) Searchers have located a body in a Houston-area creek near the home of a woman who's being missing for a week.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office on Thursday announced a Texas EquuSearch team found a body in Cypress Creek. Authorities are trying to ID the body discovered in far north Harris County.
The sheriff's office says the area is near the residence of 26-year-old Melissa Sowders. She was last seen Dec. 26.
Investigators have said they believe the woman was the victim of foul play. The sheriff's office on Monday announced her car was found in a parking lot.
Members of Texas EquuSearch and sheriff's deputies have searched the creek area for several days.
