Emergency officials say a 9-year-old boy has died after being pulled from a burning home in San Antonio.

Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the fire Sunday morning. A medical examiner has identified the victim as Ryan Rios.

A spokesman for the San Antonio Fire Department says the boy was located in a back bedroom amid heavy smoke. The child died later at a hospital.

Several other people in the home escaped unharmed.
