AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - With the election less than two weeks away,
Republican Governor Rick Perry and Democratic challenger Bill White
are hitting the road to seek votes.
Perry is visiting Bryan and says he has an announcement affecting education in this state. Pundits see it as a way to call attention to his political race. Perry will also stop in nearby Conroe and Beaumont.
Meanwhile his Democratic opponent is touring cities out west, making stops in El Paso, Midland and Lubbock.
