DALLAS - Dallas police say nearly a dozen children have been hurt in a collision between two school buses.

Sr. Cpl. Melinda Gutierrez says the accident Tuesday morning involved two Richardson Independent School District buses.

Gutierrez says 11 children were transported to hospitals. She says the youngsters suffered injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening. Police say several more children might require medical attention.

A spokesman for the Richardson ISD did not immediately return messages to provide more details.

Regular classes are out for the summer at the Dallas-area school district.
