For days forecasters across Texas have been talking about an approaching front and the changes in weather.
Friday afternoon folks in the Panhandle area of Texas were welcomed with snow.
Pampa and Amarillo both saw a powdery dusting of snow.
That same front brought damage to the Dallas area. High winds ripped the roof off a Braum's ice cream store and several other buildings received damage when a storm passed through Greenville.
City spokesman Doyle Dick told The Associated Press that
straight-line winds were to blame for damage that also was reported
at a car rental business and a gas station. Fire and police
officials were responding on Friday afternoon. Dick said one person
may have received minor injuries when a sign toppled onto a car.
KTVT television station in Dallas showed a large piece of the
Braum's roof in the parking lot of the eatery following the storm.
Greenville is about 50 miles northeast of Dallas.
That same front l moved through the Brazos Valley Friday evening.
