TEMPLE (January 18, 2012) -- A call for a house fire Friday morning, lead to the discovery of a body inside a burned out home.
Temple Fire first responded to the wood-framed home at 813 East Avenue N. around 12:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews could see smoke and flames shooting from the home.
During their initial sweep fire crews discovered the body.
The victim's name has not been released.
Temple Fire Department investigators could not find evidence of a smoke alarm in the residence.
Investigators also believe that the fire was unintentional.
A space heater was located close to combustible bedding in the victim's bedroom
Next door neighbors say the person had lived in the home for more than 10 years.
