Human remains were discovered Sunday in a grassy area along the Trinity River levee near downtown Dallas.
Witnesses told police they had been walking their dogs along the levee when they spotted a human skull. About 25 yards from that point, they saw the skeletal remains of a torso and some clothing.
Search teams used a trained dog to scour the area near the 800 block of South Riverfront Boulevard for any additional remains and clues.
The remains were transferred to the medical examiner's office for identification.
