Police in Dallas are investigating how a woman who called 911 wasn't immediately located by officers but found murdered in her apartment two days later.
Police say Deanna Cook called 911 Friday from a cellphone, but the call taker didn't get an address from Cook and a search for the address took about 9 minutes. When police eventually arrived at Patrick's southeast Dallas home, they knocked on the door and got no response. They checked the windows, saw nothing and left.
The 32-year-old woman was found dead in her bathtub on Sunday, two days later. Her ex-husband, 35-year-old Delvecchio Patrick, was arrested and charged with murder.
Police say they're investigating whether officers at the scene knew enough about the nature of the call. They've declined to release the 911 tape.
