Fort Worth and Texas Christian University police arrested a number of TCU students early Wednesday in a crackdown on drug dealing on and around the campus.
“These students are charged with acting in a manner that is incompatible with TCU values and against the law. That is simply unacceptable and such reported behavior is not tolerated at this University,” TCU Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. said in a message posted on the school’s website.
The students arrested Wednesday were “immediate separated from TCU and criminally trespassed from the campus,” he said.
Those found to be distributing drugs are subject to immediate expulsion, he said.
“TCU has never before experienced a magnitude of student arrests such as this,” he said.
“In fact, Campus Police records show only five student arrests related to drug law violations in recent years.”
In 2011, 71 students were disciplined for drug violations, the university said.
