SAN ANTONIO (AP) An ex-trainer at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland has been sentenced to three months in military jail for having a sexual relationship with a female recruit.
Air Force Tech Sgt. Julio Morales was sentenced Tuesday after being convicted of adultery for his involvement with the recruit while she was in basic training in 2008. A military judge also found Morales guilty of having an unprofessional relationship with the trainee at a time when he was estranged from his wife.
Morales was also sentenced to 30 days of hard labor, reduced in rank and fined $1,200.
More than 30 instructors at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland have been charged with misconduct in the military sex scandal. Most of the 20 tried so far have been convicted.
