PEARLAND, Texas - A Houston-area teenager has been charged in the killing of a 16-year-old pregnant ex-schoolmate after police determined he was the father of her unborn twins.
Pearland police on Tuesday night announced the arrest of the now-17-year-old suspect on a capital murder charge.
Investigators did not release the name of the juvenile suspect, who was 16 when Arrijana Hill was discovered slain March 21 at her home. An autopsy determined she was stabbed and strangled.
Police did not immediately release a possible motive.
DNA analysis determined paternity of the unborn twins. Lt. Patrick Savage says lab results were needed to build a strong case.
Both teens attended Dawson High School in Pearland. The suspect in late March transferred to Pasadena Memorial High School, where he was arrested Tuesday.
