Falling Pipe Kills Truck Driver at Port of Houston

HOUSTON - A trucking company worker has died at the Port of Houston after a steel pipe fell on him as it was being loaded on a truck.

An official with the temporary employment agency that provided the worker identified the victim in Monday morning's accident as Manuel Funez.

Dixon Jowers of Lone Star Staffing said Funez was the driver of a truck that was receiving a load of steel pipes.

The Houston Chronicle reported that the accident was under investigation.
