Firefighters Battle Two Central TX Fires, Look for Connection

Waco firefighters battled a pair of house fires overnight.

The first fire was reported at around 1:20 Wednesday morning at 17th and Blair in Waco.

Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.

Nobody was living in the home.

The house is considered a total loss.

Another fire was reported in Waco at around 1:30 Wednesday morning.

The fire was behind a house in a garage off of Alexander Avenue, near Reicher Catholic High School.

The garage was completely on fire when firefighters got to the scene.

The fire did spread to the back of the house, but firefighters were able to put that out quickly.

The Red Cross is helping the man who lived in the home find another place to stay.

Both fires in Waco are under investigation.

Throughout the night, several car fires were reported in Waco.

Officials are still working to see if all of the fires are somehow connected.
