HOUSTON - The U.S. Coast Guard and good Samaritans rescued five people whose boat became swamped in the Houston Ship Channel.
The five people were reported in the water at 8:20 a.m. Friday.
Officials say a good Samaritan vessel rescued one man who couldn't feel his legs and transported him to shore, where a Coast Guard helicopter took him to a Houston hospital. The man's condition was not immediately known.
Another good Samaritan ship picked up the four others and took them to shore. They were reported in good condition.
