HOUSTON (AP) - An autopsy has been ordered on a 9-year-old girl whose body was found wrapped in blankets at her Houston home.
Houston police responding to a call from a concerned neighbor discovered the girl's body Monday night in an apartment. Nobody else was at the residence.
Sgt. Chris Hassig says investigators are trying to reach the girl's mother. Hassig says police have contacted the child's father, who lives elsewhere.
The name of the girl and further details on the case weren't immediately released.
Officials with Child Protective Services are helping investigate.
