GRANBURY, Texas - Residents in the North Texas town of Granbury whose homes were torn apart or blown away by a deadly tornado are set to return to get what belongings may be left and start cleaning up.
The residents of Rancho Brazos Estates neighborhood will be allowed back in to survey things started Saturday morning.
Granbury bore the brunt of the damage during Wednesday's outbreak of 16 tornadoes in North Texas. Six people were left dead by the tornado that swept through Granbury, located about 40 miles southwest of Fort Worth.
The National Weather Service says the Granbury tornado was an EF-4, based on the Fujita tornado damage scale. Winds in an EF-4 tornado are between 166 and 200 mph. An EF-5 is the most severe.
