Homeless Runners Help Themselves

Most members of the Dream Team had not run for
exercise in years - if ever. But Saturday, the nine ran in Help the Homeless Walkathon & 5K, a fundraiser for The Bridge, which serves the homeless.

The event was a chance for the nine to help themselves - they
are each homeless and live at The Bridge.

The Dallas Morning News reported that the team members started a
free program last month with trainers, and they were outfitted with
shoes and clothes.

The 5K and fun walk was part of the annual Help the Homeless
Week. Next Saturday, a group of teens will sleep outside overnight
as part of another event called One Night Without a Home.
