HOUSTON (AP) - Thousands of homes and businesses in the Houston area have lost power during storms that brought down part of the awning at a gas station.
CenterPoint Energy reports only about 200 customers were still without electricity Monday. More than 9,100 outages were reported Sunday night as bad weather moved through the Houston area.
A gas station in Cypress suffered damage when strong winds toppled part of the awning. Authorities say one female customer was transported to a hospital to be checked for minor injuries.
The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms are possible in the Houston area for much of this week.
