Houston A Houston body shop owner has presented an injured firefighter with ties to the Brazos Valley with a specially designed and painted ax, to honor his service to the Houston Fire Department.
Captain William Dowling was injured in a motel fire on May 31st that also claimed the lives of four firefighters.
Cory Scott, the shop's owner presented Dowling and Houston Fire Stations 51 and 68 the axes to honor their dedication and to remember the four who lost their lives battling the huge five-alarm fire.
Scott says besides painting the axes, he hired an artist to do the detail work.
Each ax is worth about $400 and now he's going to start working on another ax that will be auctioned off during a future fundraiser for Captain Dowling.
