The Harris County Sheriff's Office says 18 people have been arrested in a two-day street-level prostitution sting.

The office says in a statement posted on its website Sunday female undercover officers posed as prostitutes, while some of their male counterparts acted as those who would solicit sex for money.

Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia has taken a tough stance on sex trafficking in the Houston area. The statement says more such operations can be expected, and will target prostitutes, as well as those who seek their services.
