HOUSTON - Houston police say the death of a 71-year-old man who allegedly was shot by his brother-in-law will go to a grand jury.
Police on Thursday identified the man who died as Charles Marion Robertson. Detective Bart Oxspring says Robertson in March was released from prison and had moved in with his sister and her husband.
Investigators say Robertson and his 70-year-old brother-in-law were arguing Wednesday afternoon at their residence. Police say at some point Robertson approached his brother-in-law in a threatening manner.
Police say the brother-in-law reached for his gun and shot Robertson, who died at the scene.
No charges were immediately filed. Further details on Robertson's criminal history were not immediately available.
