Magnolia School's Playground Equipment Destroyed By Fire

A possible arson fire has snuffed out any chance of recess for the coming days or weeks at Magnolia’s Smith Elementary School.

Monday night before seven, firefighters were dispatched to what was being called a controlled burn out of control on Hardin Store Road at Hidden Valley in Magnolia.

Once on the scene, firefighters called for backup when they saw thousands of dollars worth of playground equipment burning and huge flames lighting up the night sky.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office and Constables are working to determine who may have started the costly fire.
