A North Texas man has been arrested in an arson investigation that led police to several alleged pipe bombs at the home of his parents.
Arlington jail records show 32-year-old Michael Alex Johnson of Arlington was being held Monday on $2 million bond on charges of arson and filing a false police report. Online jail records do not list an attorney for Johnson.
Firefighters on Saturday night responded to a call about a suspicious blaze in a driveway.
Arson investigators later secured a search warrant for the nearby home of Johnson's parents. Fire department Lt. Kevin Seeton says investigators found handmade pipe bombs inside the residence.
Seeton says nearby homes were evacuated for several hours as a precaution as Johnson was arrested. Nobody was hurt.
Further details weren't immediately released.
