HOUSTON Police say a man died early Tuesday after he jumped from a moving vehicle on the Eastex Freeway.

The incident happened shortly before 3 a.m. at Rankin Road, blocking the freeway's northbound main lanes for more than two hours.

According to Houston police, the man who jumped from the car was driving at the time. He told his brother he was having marriage troubles and then jumped from the car while it was in motion. The driver’s brother told police he quickly moved into the driver’s seat to gain control of the vehicle.
The freeway reopened shortly before 5:30 a.m.
