ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Arlington police are investigating after a man with mental disabilities was found dead inside a hot car.
Police spokeswoman Tiara Richard says the man was found in a sport utility vehicle Thursday afternoon. The SUV was parked outside a group home where Richard said people with special needs were cared for.
Richard said the man, who has not been identified, was in his late 20s or early 30s but had "the mental capacity of a young child."
Investigators believe that a group of people went out in the SUV Thursday morning and people were dropped off somewhere off-site, but the man apparently didn't get out with the others. The SUV then returned to the group home.
An employee who went to the SUV later found the man unresponsive.
