A man who fled a North Texas courthouse to avoid possible arrest has been hurt after a chase in which he allegedly stole and wrecked a police car.
Fort Worth police say the man and the female driver of an SUV also involved in Tuesday's accident have been taken to a hospital. Further details on their conditions were not immediately available.
Police say the incident began when a man bolted from a Tarrant County courthouse during a routine background check. A female police officer ran after the man, but he jumped into her patrol car and sped off.
The patrol car ran a couple of red lights and hit an SUV at an intersection.
Further details on why the man might have been arrested were not immediately available.
