Cameron, Texas – A Burlington man has been charged with one count of felony livestock theft and one count of misapplication of fiduciary property after he turned himself in to Milam County authorities Wednesday.

William J. (Jim) Crennan, 55, was charged after he allegedly failed to deliver 230 head of cattle owned by a Panhandle feedyard company. Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Special Rangers Marvin Wills and Hal Dumas led the investigation.

Wills said the investigation is ongoing at this time, but that more charges could be filed.

Crennan is in the Milam County jail on bond of $15,000. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine per charge.
TSCRA would like to thank Milam County Sheriff David Greene, Milam County Chief Deputy Chris White and Milam County District Attorney Bill Torrey for their help with the investigation.
