ST. LOUIS (AP) Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perry warns that unless Missouri lawmakers override Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon's veto of an income tax cut, he won't be the only governor trying to lure business from Missouri.

Perry spoke Thursday evening at a pro-tax cut rally in Chesterfield after spending the day in the St. Louis area pushing for the override of Nixon's veto of House Bill 253. Nixon says the tax cut would imperil critical services like education.

Perry told several hundred people in an event tent set up in a hotel parking lot that Kansas and other neighboring states are watching Missouri's decision on the tax cut. Perry has been featured in recent ads airing in Missouri that try to convince Show-Me state businesses to move to his state.
