Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Bust Worth $300,000

SPLENDORA, Texas -- On Wednesday afternoon in Splendora, Texas, a Deputy in the Special Investigations Unit conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck on the Highway 59 service road.

During the traffic stop, a Special Investigations Unit canine was deployed on the vehicle which resulted with a positive alert. A search of the vehicle was conducted and approximately 3000 grams of (ICE) methamphetamine was seized. The street value of the methamphetamine was $300,000.

The driver and passenger were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree felony. The arrested suspects are Mexican Nationals and Immigration holds were placed on both.
