SHAMROCK, Texas -- An Amarillo area school district has stepped up security and they want people to know about it.

Shamrock ISD added two signs warning people that their staff members are armed and willing to protect students.

The district also installed 30 new security cameras, an intercom system, and bulletproof windows.

Most parents are happy with the additions to keep the 450 students safe.
