DALLAS (AP) - Officials have confirmed that the man accused in a shooting rampage that left four people dead worked as a special education teacher and supplemented his time as a hip-hop dancer for the Dallas Mavericks.
Police are working to determine why Erbie Bowser fatally shot two people at a Dallas residence Wednesday night and then traveled to nearby DeSoto where he killed two others. Four others were shot and injured.
Bowser worked nearly a decade as a special education teacher in the Dallas suburb of Mesquite. A school district spokeswoman said Thursday he resigned in 2010 "on good terms."
He also spent time as a Dallas Mavs ManiAAC. The team describes the dance troupe as "beefy men" who entertain fans during games. Bowser last danced with the group in 2009.
