WARING, Texas (AP) - The eagle has landed back with some Central Texas firefighters.

Members of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday returned a cast iron statue of a bald eagle to the Waring Volunteer Fire Department.

Authorities say a tip led to the nearly 300-pound artwork hidden under some brush in a field near Fredericksburg.

The eagle was swiped in late May after being cut from a rock bluff outside the fire department in Waring, about 45 miles northwest of San Antonio.

Lt. Shad Prichard says no one has been arrested in connection with the theft.
