Testimony Continues in Wrongful-Conviction Case

A West Texas jury is to hear more testimony in the trial of a drifter implicated in a woman's 1986 beating death by DNA tests that freed the woman's wrongly convicted husband.

The Tom Green County jury hearing evidence in Mark Alan Norwood's murder trial has already heard from Michael Morton, the man wrongly convicted in the death of his wife Christine Morton. DNA tests cleared Morton of the murder and freed him in 2011 after 25 years in prison.

Prosecutors told jurors that the DNA evidence and a stolen gun links Norwood to the killing.

However, Norwood's attorney told jurors to consider the possibility that the DNA evidence could have been contaminated.
