BURNET, Texas (AP) - BURNET, Texas (AP) - A Central Texas woman charged with killing her husband allegedly had texted her plans to a friend hours before the fatal shooting.
Court records indicate Karra Trichele Allen of Bertram sent text messages to a friend threatening to shoot and dismember her spouse. The Austin American-Statesman reported Tuesday that the friend received the texts the afternoon of July 1.
The Burnet (BER'-net) County Sheriff's Office says the body of Brian Allen was found at the couple's home that night after his wife called authorities to say she shot her spouse. A transcript indicates Karra Allen told a dispatcher she fired in self-defense during an argument.
The wife remains jailed on a murder charge with bond set at $500,000.
Details weren't immediately available on the friend who received the texts.
