A South Texas husband and wife have pleaded guilty to drug-related counts after nearly $5 million worth of cocaine was found in their truck.
A federal judge in Corpus Christi has ordered sentencing July 26 for Casimiro Salinas and Patsy Salinas of Beeville.
Casimiro Salinas pleaded guilty Monday to possession with intent to distribute more than 11 pounds of cocaine and conspiracy to commit money laundering. His wife pleaded guilty to structuring financial transactions.
Agents at the Falfurrias checkpoint in January located bundles of cocaine in the Salinas vehicle. Investigators later confirmed the couple used cash to buy property in Beeville and Las Vegas.
Casimiro Salinas faces up to life in prison and a $10 million fine. His wife could get 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
