A Central Texas woman who spent time in prison for beating one boyfriend has been sentenced to 40 years behind bars for killing another suitor.
A judge in Georgetown on Monday sentenced 28-year-old Annette Valdez.
Valdez last week pleaded guilty to murder in the October fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Cory Burns. Investigators say Burns was attacked during an argument at the couple's Austin-area apartment.
Records show Valdez in March 2012 was paroled after serving part of a three-year term for assault with bodily injury for hitting another boyfriend in 2011.
