STEPHENVILLE, Texas -- Tarleton State University says a threat that forced the school to move its graduation ceremonies has turned out to be a false alarm.

University spokeswoman Janice Horak on Saturday wouldn't elaborate on the nature of the threat made in regards to the campus gym. The school moved some graduation ceremonies to the football field before authorities gave the all-clear by the afternoon.

Nearly 600 students were set to graduate Saturday.

Tarleton State is part of the Texas A&M University System. The school's enrollment eclipsed a record 10,000 students this fall.
