DALLAS (AP) - Law enforcement officials say a neighborhood watch volunteer suspected of raping four women in Dallas has been arrested in Louisiana.
U.S. Marshals spokesman Trent Touchstone said Tuesday that local and federal law officers arrested 38-year-old Van Draylan Dixson in Baton Rouge, La., more than 400 miles away from Dallas.
Police believe a single attacker sexually assaulted as many as nine women this summer in the city's Fair Park neighborhood, near downtown.
Police say the attacker forced victims at gunpoint into secluded areas and sexually assaulted them.
Investigators say DNA evidence has linked Dixson to four of those attacks, while test results from other attacks are pending.
Neighbors say Dixson was a crime-watch volunteer and would patrol the streets several times a week.
