PALO PINTO, Texas (AP) - Wildfires have broken out in a North Texas community devastated by 2011 blazes that destroyed about 200 homes during the drought.
No injuries were reported Tuesday in the wildfires that scorched about 130 acres near Possum Kingdom Lake, 75 miles west of Fort Worth. Several volunteer firefighters responded after the blazes broke out late Monday afternoon.
Palo Pinto County emergency management official Mark Engebretson says the fires have affected an area known as the Peninsula.
Emergency management officials and the Texas Forest Service didn't immediately provide additional details Tuesday.
