Aggie Olympians Going for Gold

The Olympics are underway in Beijing, which means the largest group of Aggie athletes ever to compete are ready for action.

Of the 17 who made national teams competing in the summer games, five will be flying the American flag. That includes volleyball star Stacy Sykora in her third Olympics with the volleyball squad.

Also looking to bring home a medal is Muna Lee, who will run in the 100 and 200 meter competitions.

If Team USA takes home the gold in baseball, Aggie Davey Johnson will get thumbs up from his country. Johnson is best known for his managing of the Baltimore Orioles.

There's also a huge honor for a volunteer assistant Aggie coach. Alleyne Francique will run for the island nation of Grenada, but he was chosen to carry his country's flag during the opening ceremonies.
