COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M used a late first-half
surge to defeat Jackson State 96-78 on Friday night.
With five minutes remaining to the break, the Aggies led the
Tigers 32-31. They closed out the half on a 19-5 tear as forward
Bryan Davis scored eight points and shooting guard Josh Carter
added five in the decisive stretch.
Carter, a senior from Dallas, led the Aggies with 25 points. He
was 5 of 8 from the 3-point line in tying the school record for
career 3-pointers. Carter now has 232 total 3-pointers, equaling
the mark set by Bernard King from 1999-2003.
The Tigers (0-2), who lost at LSU 79-65 on Nov. 15, were led by
Grant Maxey with a game-high 28 points.
