Texas A&M has pulled the plug on a plan to create a new fee for Aggies who ride bicycles on campus.

After objections from student bicyclists, the $10 registration fee proposal has been scrapped.

A student sub-committee recommended the charge as a way to fund a new registration system that would address the growing number of abandoned and stolen bicycles on campus. The university now says it'll look at other funding sources for the program.
