Texas A&M's golf course is closing Monday so major renovations can begin.
According to the university, Landscapes Unlimited out of Houston will do the project at a cost of $1.75 million. The course's 18 holes will be redone, and three extra holes will be added for research purposes.
The current driving range will be expanded and a new snack bar will be put in as well.
Sterling Golf Management, Inc. will take over operations of the course.
The university has targeted September 1, 2013 for the reopening.
