COLLEGE STATION Texas A&M's vice president for administration announced his resignation this week.
The university says Rodney McClendon will step down on October 31st.
He serves under A&M President R. Bowen Loftin, who is resigning in January.
A&M's website describes McClendon's role of vice president as providing leadership and management oversight for a broad range of non-academic matters related to operations in the areas of facilities, utilities and energy management, business auxiliaries, risk management and compliance, and safety and security.
In a memo to university faculty and staff, President Loftin said, "I thank Vice President McClendon for his leadership and guidance over the years at our great University and wish him well in his future endeavors."
